Twitter!

We're not trying to flood you. It just seems everyone nowadays has a twitter, we're riding the wave of change. An article in Time magazine recently cited twitter had a growth of over 1200% in monthly visits during the past year.

However the bottom line is that Oprah has a twitter, we're interested in following her. We'd like to use the term ambient awareness with our new move towards twitter, we'll know what you guys are up to and you'll know what we're up to. We've decided to take a more personal route and give our updates alongside store updates because we're just that interesting(6) (Sarcasm meter).

Pretty heavy duty if you ask us, but hey, there was friendster, myspace, facebook and I guess twitter is the next wave.

(On a personal note I was asking myself the question, "Why would anyone want another stream of information on top of facebook, email, tv, magazines, ads, ect?" I guess my question is semi-answered by the above Time article. All I'm going to say is that there's only 24 hours in a day.)

Wolframaplha: Computing the Interwebs

I found this answer engine just yesterday afternoon while I was taking a break from the rigors of measuring garments and breaking salty sweats over rough sketches, Wolframalpha is AMAZING. My jaw dropped 15 seconds into the screencast on their website. Here's a blurb from the about section of their website:

Marumushi News Map: Update

I had blogged about one of my homepages earlier last month. The news map which is created by design company marumushi has relaunched it's web url to www.newsmap.jp. Lots easier than the long link I had posted the last time.

They've updated the color scheme and some interfaces with the news map making it even more visually pleasing and interactive with the reader.

Shout Out to +65

Would like to key in all you readers out there that haven't made your way over to a fairly new Product / News site, +65, trying to make our local shopping experience that much easier by giving people a heads up on what has dropped and where. Here's a short excerpt off their site,

A friend of mine just messaged me the website for this amazing app, Evernote. I'm downloading it as I type this out. I can't really describe how great this application is, just watch the video below and decide for yourselves.

The online presence of Singaporean product, news, lifestyle website/magazines has been minimal considering we've had communities existing for awhile. It's about time someone stepped up to the plate and took it to the next level.

TASHED is an online music and events magazine focused on introducing quality indie, rock, new wave, electro, and pop music with CD reviews, free downloads, mp3s and videos.

I hope you all enjoy the tip if you've already heard, I'll throw you a latepass.

Marumushi News Map

In today's information age, media in all different forms especially on the internet moves so fluidly if not too fluidly. One way to help keep tabs on the current headlines is the News Map developed by marumushi.com. It enables the viewer to browse current headlines in a visually stimulating manner. Marumushi which is headed by design engineer Marcos Weskamp investigates interaction between the user and informational media. Below is a short description behind the direction of marumushi and the development of the news map.

"Today we are being constantly bombarded with information, be it on the street, on the train, on TV, radio. The Internet is a wonderful communication tool, but day after day we find ourselves constantly dealing with information overload.
